Projects

I have worked on a number of interesting projects since arriving to UGA. Some still remain unfinished (welcome to a grad student's life) and others have been dead ends, but have certainly helped me become a better student in CS. Here are a few of the projects I have worked on over the past few years. Just click on one of the projects for more info...

Thesis: Selective Querying For Adapting Web Service Compositions
This has been the main focus of my time as a PhD student as well as my pride and joy thus far. 15-second version: My research is in the area of deriving information querying methods and algorithms for optimizing QoS in Web service compositions through adaptation. Recently, I gave my prospectus presentation. For more details, see the research or publications pages.

Process Mediation

I was involved in the process mediation project in the METEOR-S group of the LSDIS lab.  Here, we attempt to create a middleware to allow for an easier exchange of protocols between a service consumer and provider.  We use pseudo-operations, constructed by the provider to aid a service process backbone planner in retrieving an optimal plan of services to create the web process.  This was used to solve the SWS Challenge 2006 (sponsored by Stanford University).

Mini-DARPA
My first semester, I became involved in a robotics class project that mimics the annual DARPA road challenge. Once again, wish I had more time to pursue this further. The AI department has projects under way. Here is a picture of our "mini-DARPA" robot.
Master's Thesis - XML Interoperability
For my master's thesis, I worked a little bit on xml data mediation project as my masters thesis under Dr. Fereidoon "Fred" Sadri. I thought this was an interesting project and wish that I could have found time to do more with it. Maybe I can return to it some day...
