Project 2: Ontology Engineering

Maximum grade: 15 points

NOTE:   This is an individual project

Using Protégé 4, create an ontology for one of the following domains:

• Music (include music types, instruments, performers, etc.)
• Your favorite sport (e.q. baseball, soccer, cricket)
• Cuisine or culinary domain
• Other interesting domain of your choice.

Your ontology should include a hierarchy of classes, object properties, data properties, and suitable restrictions. 

Submit your ontology file to cs8350 on odin.

Notes:

1. You will be using Protege ontology editor to create your ontology. I suggest you download version 4.1 of Protege.
2. The University of Manchester offers a good tutorial on Protege 4.
3. You should read a good, but very introductory paper on ontology development, written by N.F. Noy and D.L. McGuinness.
