This past spring break, seventeen first-year students from UGA’s School of Computing had the opportunity to embark on an immersive nine-day journey to London as a part of the World of Computing Connect Abroad program. The study abroad was led by Principal Lecturer of Computer Science Bradley Barnes.

The trip provided students with one-of-a-kind experiences and the ability to explore computing on a global platform. Students had the opportunity to meet with industry leaders, visiting London’s Silicon Roundabout and touring Google’s Pancras Square office, gaining valuable insights from real-world professionals.

The World of Computing study abroad trip underscores the interdisciplinary nature of computing and its relevance across diverse fields. By connecting students globally, the study abroad aims to inspire the next generation of global computing professionals and their limitless possibilities.
